Seminyak after dark
An evening in Seminyak goes sea, then street, then home: the sun goes down over the beach, dinner is on Jalan Kayu Aya, and a late drink is a short walk or ride from there. Every time below is a walking route from the villa’s gate, not a guess.
Sunset
Seminyak Beach is a 1.4 km walk from the gate, about sixteen minutes. The sun sets over the Indian Ocean, straight out from the sand, and the beach fills for it.
KU DE TA sits at the sea end of Jalan Kayu Aya, sixteen minutes on foot; from there it is 450 m, five minutes, to the sand. Potato Head Beach Club, on Petitenget beach, is a 2.2 km walk, twenty-seven minutes, or a short ride.
Dinner on Jalan Kayu Aya
The lane comes out on Jalan Kayu Aya, the street most people call Eat Street, seven minutes from the gate. Ginger Moon Canteen is seven minutes away, La Favela nine and Mama San, on Jalan Raya Kerobokan, thirteen. Most evenings are a walk there and a walk back.
A late drink
Red Carpet Champagne Bar, on Jalan Kayu Aya, is nine minutes on foot, and La Favela turns from restaurant to late bar as the night goes on. Motel Mexicola, on Jalan Kayu Jati, is a sixteen-minute walk. For a longer night, Potato Head and Mrs Sippy, the saltwater pool club off Jalan Petitenget, are a short ride.
Or the evening at home
Some of the best evenings stay in: the pool lit after dark, a long table in the pavilion, and music in the garden until 10 pm, the villa’s rule for its neighbours. A private chef can cook at the villa; ask a day ahead.
