Villa Aniri is a private retreat in Seminyak, Bali. Carved-teak Javanese joglo pavilions sit under thatch in a walled garden. This serene setting is near the beach.
The house
Reclaimed Javanese Joglos
The buildings are teak Joglos from Java, taken down and rebuilt here around the pool and the garden.
02Bathrooms
Four river-stone bathrooms
Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a stone basin, a pebble floor and a shower. Some are partly open to the sky.
03Kitchen and dining
A full kitchen and a table by the pool
The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining table is under the pavilion roof beside the pool. A private chef can shop at the morning market and cook; ask a day ahead.
04Evening
After dark
The pool and the garden are lit in the evening. The bedrooms have reading lamps, and the Joglo bedroom has timber walls.

Looked after every day
Housekeeping every morning, the garden and pool kept, security at night, and help arranging drivers, restaurant tables, surf lessons and day trips. In-villa massage and a yoga teacher can be booked a day ahead.
