Booking
Booking direct, or through a platform
We would rather you booked direct, and we will tell you why. We will also tell you when a platform is the better choice for you, because pretending otherwise would be the kind of thing that makes people distrust a villa website.
What a platform gives you
A checkout you have used before. A large company holding your card and a dispute process if something goes badly wrong. Reviews from strangers who had no reason to be kind. One place where all your trips live.
On a first trip to a country you have never visited, that is worth something real. If it is what lets you sleep before you travel, book that way — we take those bookings too and you will get the same house and the same staff.
What it costs, on both sides
Platforms add a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate, and they take a commission from the owner — which every nightly rate on every platform has to carry. Your cancellation terms become the platform’s terms rather than ours. Your messages go through a middleman that, for its own reasons, would rather you did not have our phone number.
None of that is scandalous. It is simply what the convenience costs, and it is paid by both ends.
What direct gives you
The best rate we offer anywhere — we do not undercut our own house on someone else’s website. A reply from the family, usually within the day. The ability to ask an awkward question before you pay anything, and get an answer from someone who has slept in the room you are asking about.
And the practical part: what you tell us goes straight to the people who will look after you. Arrival times, the birthday, the allergy, the child who cannot sleep without a nightlight — the attendant reads it before you land.
How ours works, step by step
Check your dates on the rates page. The availability check is live, and if your dates fall in a period with a minimum stay it tells you exactly what that minimum is rather than leaving you to discover it.
Send the request. No card, no account, no deposit at this stage — three fields and whatever you want us to know.
We reply with a written quote: availability confirmed, the full price with nothing hiding in it, and the cancellation terms in plain language. The dates are held for you while you decide.
If you go ahead, a 50% deposit holds the booking and the balance is due a month before arrival. Everything is quoted in rupiah, and the rate includes the staff and daily housekeeping.
The thing we will not pretend
We are a family with a staff of four, not a company with a call centre. There is no app to complain into at three in the morning and no algorithm to escalate to. What there is instead is a phone number that belongs to a person, and a reputation that lives or dies on how the last family was treated.
If that trade sounds wrong for you, book the platform. We will still be glad to host you.
One more reason, if you like the villa
A direct booking is the one that keeps a small independent house independent. The commission that does not leave the island pays the staff of four who make the place what it is. That is not a guilt trip — the rate is the better rate either way — but it is true, and it is the reason this page exists.
Questions people ask
Straight answers
Is it cheaper to book direct?
Yes. Direct is the best rate we offer anywhere, and there is no platform guest service fee on top of it. Our published from-rate is IDR 6.831.000 a night for the whole villa.
Is it safe to pay a villa owner directly?
You should always want the same things: a written quote, clear cancellation terms before any money moves, and a named person who answers. You get all three here — and no deposit is taken until you have that quote in writing.
What is the cancellation policy?
It comes with your quote, in plain language, before you pay anything. We would rather you read the terms for your actual dates than a generic paragraph on a web page.
Can you hold dates while we decide?
Yes. When we confirm availability we hold the dates while you talk it over. A 50% deposit then secures the booking, with the balance due a month before arrival.
Do you have a minimum stay?
Peak dates carry one. The availability check on the rates page shows the exact minimum for the dates you enter, before you send anything.

This guide keeps to what we can vouch for: this house, this lane, and things that are simply true of Bali. Where it would need a fact we have not checked — a restaurant’s current form, a price we do not set, a rule that changes — we have left it out rather than guessed, and said who to ask instead. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
